HOW DID YOU GET IN TO FITNESS?
My mom exercised all the time when I was young and my dad was an avid runner. I did not play sports in school so I started hitting the gym with my mom when I was old enough. I continued working out when I was in college and after. I believe I did everything there was along the way for the past few decades. As I got older, the connection I had without fitness changed and there were some that changed my life. Pilates is one of those as is yoga and cycling.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF TEACHING?
My favorite thing about teaching is the clients. I love challenging them with moves that seem simple but in reality once you get started they are extremely difficult. I want to make the 60 minutes that they are there the best 60 minutes of the day. I like to be slow, methodical and purposeful. You will always feel my class the next day – Even I still do!
WHAT MAKES YOU AND/OR YOUR WORK UNIQUE?
I think it unique to become an instructor at this point in my life. I have grown to understand my body and how to engage it. I also figured out for my body that I did not need to do high intensity to loose the 50 pounds I had been trying to shed for years. I love the mind body connection that one can develop with work and consistency.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE OTHER TYPE OF EXERCISE?
Yoga and cycling indoor and out.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE INDULGENCE?
I eat really healthy the majority of the time. Smoothies, gluten free, dairy free mostly vegetables and protein. If I indulge, I really love ice cream and potato chips. Dark chocolate is also a favorite.
